Frequently Asked Questions about Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting
What does it mean to have your home cleaned?
Cleaning uses soaps, detergents and water to visibly remove germs and dirt from surfaces or objects. It doesn't necessarily kill germs but reduces the risk of them spreading. Is sanitizing and disinfecting the same thing?
Sanitizing, like using your average hand sanitizer, lowers the number of germs and reduces bacteria, virus and fungi growth. More effective than cleaning alone, it leaves surfaces rendered as "safe", but does not necessarily eliminate these microorganisms. Elimination of these microorganisms off surfaces is best achieved by disinfecting.
What does disinfecting do that cleaning and sanitizing cannot?
Disinfecting actively kills germs and viruses on hard surfaces or objects. Only hard (nonporous) surfaces can be disinfected. Disinfectants used on soft (porous) surfaces, such as stone or granite countertops, carpets and rugs, and soft fabric furniture will only sanitize the surface, as the disinfectant cannot reach all layers of the object to completely disinfect it.

Do I have to leave during the fogging service?

If someone walks through the mist as it falls, it may leave an area of your home or business unprotected. Should it suit you, we may request that you leave your home.
